Hard Ball In Cat Belly

few years ago to Tarantino, came to include De Niro in his movie Jackie Brown in a supporting role that could well make any other actor, without resources to category of " mr. raging bull" , but the issue was very good, and both Tarantino as De Niro, saved the dishes with the idea and interpretation, respectively, of that character.

mention this because we're used to seeing De Niro in more complex roles than this film, but the idea was just that: make a paradox De Niro. And it worked.

Two years ago, a movie "mark hollywood" made a splash in American criticism (which I have not much confidence) by using well-known actors in roles unimaginable for a parody war films, achieving also interesting results at the box office, but, nevertheless, failed to arouse my interest to see it. The reason? appeared in the credits as a producer Ben Stiller , writer and director.

I have nothing against Ben, but the last time you decided to be "man band" (directing, writing, etc ...) it did Zoolander and, for me, it was no big thing.

And so the time passed until, by accident, as most of the time, I found the film, already begun, a cable channel and was very impressed by what I saw, the degree to find ways of seeing again complete, as it should be from the beginning.

These Tropic Thunder, a movie that turned out much better than I expected.

The idea is well worked. A parody of war movies / action and the concept of stardom in film that goes beyond cheap comedy.

Technically the movie deserves examination: a sound worthy of the gender war, a remarkable photograph by John Toll (Legends of the Fall, Braveheart), a wise and effective assembly, slow motion fine (nothing to envy to and a script deserves applause different from other comedies of this type. Who knows

Apocalypse Now, The Sniper, Platoon, The Thin Red Line, Saving Private Ryan or Born July 4 , to name a few, achieved much more loudly than those who have never seen, because there are a number huge nods to the films that parody is almost a tribute. Neither war literature is beyond the scope of this film, seen in the laboratory, was performed very seriously.

But one thing that makes this movie good is cast, projecting the performances of Robert Downey Jr. , playing, with expertise in a method actor who immerses himself in his interpretation of African-American, to the extent of pigmented skin to look more real, and also the brief but brilliant appearance of Tom Cruise , parodying a Hollywood executive egocentric ("Sumner Redstone?). Both cases represent a tremendous paradox because neither plays a role "embroidered to order" or typical of the image that they have in hollywood.

Other cast met, but Nick Nolte away, all roles to which they are accustomed or types which are shoes made to measure, as the case of Jack Black or Ben Stiller same without But they are still worthy of recognition Porel good management that make the comedy without dialogue (gag), acting and do not necessarily merit of the script. Go

surprise to me because Ben Stiller . Really unexpected. Demonstrated knowledge of war movies is surprising, especially in the more subtle, which seems they are not doing any winking, or parodying anything.

There is no doubt that here, as was the case with De Niro Jackie Brown, the concept of paradox worked well and the word parody looks better than many films that use it.

I think despite the mosquitoes, humidity and other nuisances of tropical forests, the cast of this film is having much fun.

never too late, says there. Therefore, I decided to recommend this film containing as many gags have seen in recent days and used only for its own sake, but with tact and wisdom.

An outstanding comedy and not being well cared for will leave you laughing. Ben Stiller and can boast of having directed a good movie. ***
